The science behind successfully achieving your goals IS a science. You have to be intentional, you have to force change to get different results, and if you can commit, you can get MASSIVE results.
Usually around mid-December of each calendar year, folks start to think about what changes they’d like to make in the upcoming year. Lose a few pounds, get on track financially, tie up loose ends, you get the picture. If you’ve ever attempted to make those changes in your life, you likely went into that process hoping to gain some momentum, or hoping to get different results, only to look yourself in the mirror in mid-February saying, “I thought I’d be further ahead by now.” Then, you go back to your old ways, and nothing really changes.
The science behind successfully achieving your goals IS a science. You have to be intentional, you have to force change to get different results, and if you can commit, you can get MASSIVE results. But first, you must convince your brain that the effort will be worth it. Why? Because the brain will always go back to the path of least resistance. Here are some tools and tips for getting those MASSIVE results:
1. Vision Your Outcome
Taking time to create images in your mind of the success you desire is the very first step. You can ABSOLUTELY get results in advance before you go about doing the work. So, carve out time each and every day as you pursue your goals to actually see yourself achieving whatever it is you want. If you see it in your mind’s eye, your habits will get you the momentum you are looking for.
2. Move From Decision to Commitment
Most of us dwell on decisions. However, if you think about a time in your life when you achieved something incredible, that is what commitment looks like. To achieve your goals, you MUST commit to them. Yes, small decisions along the way helped you to get there, but it was an unwavering commitment that broke down the doors to conquer whatever fears or limitations you perceived you possessed.
3. Get Resourceful
Don’t go it alone! There are plenty of resources at your fingertips that you can access. By becoming resourceful, you’ll feel supported through your journey so that you get the results you are looking for. Resourcefulness is a skill that is equally important as your resolve, so don’t underestimate your power in that category.
4. Change Your Standard
To get massive results, you have to change your standard. What was once acceptable is no longer tolerable. Changing your standard means you have to create new habits – which is difficult if you dwell in decision, but a whole lot easier when you are committed to your aspirations.
5. 1% More EVERY Day
When we feel less motivated, our standards diminish. Don’t even THINK about going there! If you are focused on continuous and never-ending improvement, you’ll discover that you can give yourself just a little bit more every day. Always striving, always hungry, always learning and growing. Give yourself permission to become an all-star version of yourself, and you’ll always get more out of your life.
6. Take Massive Action
To get massive results, you must take massive action. You are capable of doing more, being more, living more, giving more, and loving more. When your attitudes and dispositions are heightened, you being to live your life at the next level.
7. Repeat the Cycle of Success
Wash. Rinse. Repeat the 6 steps and begin again!
