As a leader, it is important to know that 80% of your problems will come from 20% of your population when you begin to lead change. While you might have 8 out of 10 people on board for the change, the other two might fight you tooth-and-nail to resist change. Each person has a threshold when it comes to change. So, knowing your team and what those change thresholds are is incredibly important.
Having plenty of resources to access from your leadership toolkit is a significant advantage. Yet, you also need to understand the psychology of change and familiarity with change management models. Furthermore, you must possess exceptional communication skills and clear objectives to the initiative you or your organization is about to experience.
